• Calvin Ng


    Calvin has substantial experience in a wide range of financial and investment industries, geographies and asset classes. Following early experience in commercial and residential lending, as well as roles as a legal advisor on mergers and acquisitions, Calvin worked at Everest Babcock & Brown, one of Australia’s largest absolute return investment managers. During his time at the company he was part of the Direct Investment Team and took part in over $1 billion in private and public transactions. Amongst these transactions were investments in residential and commercial mortgage backed securities and established home loan and specialty finance businesses.

    In 2006, Calvin established Aura Capital Group, an independently owned and operated business providing a range of innovative corporate finance, public and private investment and corporate advisory services.

    Eric has a broad range of experience within the areas of corporate, private equity and banking and finance law. He has been involved in many high profile transactions, including a $340 million takeover of a wine club business, a $575 million acquisition of a leading Australian services provider to the mining, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors, a $2.7 billion recapitalisation of a leading Australian energy infrastructure company and a $550 million construction finance facility for a 45 storey property construction.

    Eric is a Managing Director and Principal of Aura Group. Prior to establishing Aura Group, Eric practiced as a solicitor at top-tier law Australia law firm, Clayton Utz. At Clayton Utz, Eric focused on the area of debt finance including syndicated loan facilities, project financing and acquisition financing, and had been exposed to deals of in excess of AUD$1 billion.

    Eric is a solicitor admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, the High Court of Australia and a member of the Law Society of NSW.

    Eric is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Laws.

    He also holds a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking) and a MFAA Anti Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Finance Act Accreditation.

    John started as a mortgage broker in 1994 after a highly successful 10 year career in the real estate industry. A year later, he won Broker of the Year, the first of many awards in broking and management. Until recently, John was the Executive Director of Loan Market Group, Australia’s leading mortgage broking business made up of brands such as X Inc, Loan Market and Realestate.com.au. Home Loans. X Inc, the business John helped found, has written more than $3 billion in loans and in 2007 he was successful in merging X Inc with the mortgage broking operations of Ray White Loan Market.

    Prior to starting X Inc, John spent nearly 10 years at Aussie Home Loans progressing through the ranks to General Manager – Sales and Distribution. John is passionate and committed to the broking industry, and has built considerable relationships with lenders, aggregators and other industry participants.
